My name is Maria Amor, I’m 19 years old and am currently studying a foundation course in art and design. I’m studying this course at Coleg Gwent, Crosskeys campus. I currently live in Blaenavon with my parents, two brothers and my dog, Patch. I have always loved art, since I was a child it has been all around me and I’ve always had a passion for it, and for creating it. I studied my A-Levels in St. Albans 6th form and it was during my second year that I realised I wanted to pursue a career in art and thought this course would be a good step for me to take, to expand my skills and also learn new ones. My favourite artist is Vincent Van Gogh, it was during my GCSE’s that I became interested in artists and what their work means and Van Gogh was the one that I based my final piece on and have loved his work since then.
